Kenya Police FC won the FKF Cup and will be representing the country in the CAF Confederation Cup while the Police Bullets won the Women's Premier League and will therefore feature in the CAF Women's Champions League

The Kenya Police FC and Kenya Police Bullets FC are in need of approximately Sh 43 million to prepare for upcoming continental assignments.

Their Patron, Interior Permanent Secretary Raymond Omollo, revealed on Wednesday after a meeting with the teams to assess the progress of their activities.

The funds are needed to support their preparation for the upcoming Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions.

“Police FC needs Sh 19 million and the Police Bullets Sh 24 million for the preparations,” he said.

The PS said the two teams will also play friendly games as part of the pre-season preparations.

The men’s team have lined up a high profile friendly against Ugandan giants Vipers FC as part of its pre-season activities.

The PS further reached out to Youth Affairs, Creative Arts and Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ababu Namwamba who attended the meeting alongside his Permanent Secretary (PS) Peter Tum and senior police officers, urging him to secure the teams  an appointment with the President to discuss issues about the sport and showcase their recent success in football.

CS Namwamba said both Police FC and Kenya Police Bullets were run well under an “impressive team management framework” and attributed the recent successes of Police FC and Police Bullets to good management of the sport and dedication of the players.

The Police FC won this year’s Domestic Cup while the Bullets clinched the Kenya Women’s Premier League (KWPL) title on what was their top-flight debut.

“You have an impressive team management framework. I see in you order, discipline, efficiency, accountability and transparency,” Ababu said.
